Israel Destroys Iranian Fighter Jets in Tabriz

The Israeli army (IDF) announced that it destroyed two Iranian fighter jets, F-4 and F-5, at the Tabriz airport in western Iran. According to the announcement, the aircraft were ready for takeoff.
The purpose of the raid was to hinder the activities of the Iranian air force and cause damage to Iran's defense systems.
The Jerusalem Post reported that, after dropping more than 1,200 bombs on Iran, Israel believes it is close to achieving air superiority in Iranian airspace.
In June 2025, achieving similar air superiority had taken several days, suggesting possible damage to Iranian anti-aircraft systems.
The IDF reported that on Saturday more than 200 aircraft struck 500 Iranian targets in two waves of attacks. The first wave targeted radar and anti-aircraft systems, while the second targeted the Iranian ballistic missile arsenal.
A new round of raids was also announced against ballistic missile infrastructure and air defense systems.
