More than 80 UN member states and international organizations condemned Israel's new measures regarding expansion in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday. The joint statement expresses concern about the potential annexation of Palestinian territory and changes to its demographic composition.

The Israeli government decided to accelerate the process of registering land ownership in the West Bank, a territory under Israeli occupation since 1967. These decisions have provoked international reactions.

In a text published at the United Nations, member states and organizations, including Greece and Cyprus, emphasize their opposition to any form of annexation and reject measures that alter the demographic composition of the occupied territories.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres called on Israel to immediately revoke the measures, calling them destabilizing and illegal, according to the International Court of Justice.

Since 1967, settlement activity has continued under all Israeli governments, intensifying under the current Netanyahu government. Over 500,000 Israelis live in the West Bank, in settlements deemed illegal by the UN.
