Iranian Diplomat: We Seek a Mutually Beneficial Agreement

Iran is seeking an agreement on its nuclear program with the United States that will bring economic benefits to both sides, an Iranian official said, a few days before the new round of talks between Tehran and Washington.

According to the Deputy Director of Economic Diplomacy of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hamid Ganbari, potential agreements in the fields of energy, mining, and even aircraft purchases are on the table in the negotiations, as part of a broader effort to lift sanctions.

Iran and the United States restarted talks on the nuclear program this month, with the aim of avoiding a new military conflict. A new round of contacts is expected to take place on Tuesday in Geneva, with the participation of, among others, American envoys Steve Whitkopf and Jared Kushner.
