Iran: War for Oil Control Aimed at China, Says Foreign Ministry

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei categorically denied allegations that his country was developing nuclear weapons. In an interview with Serbian public television (RTS), Baghaei stated that Iran's nuclear program is peaceful and challenged the presentation of evidence to the contrary by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The Iranian official argued that the war against Iran is aimed at China, as controlling Iranian oil reserves would equate to controlling one-third of global oil reserves, which would be a "nightmare" for China.
He also characterized the control of the Strait of Hormuz as strategically important for Iran's security, noting that the war situation in the region was imposed through the use of American bases in neighboring countries. "There is no hostility towards any country in the region. These are our Muslim brothers and sisters. We regret that the US is using their territory to attack Iran... We did not want this situation in the Strait of Hormuz, it has been imposed on us," he stated.
Esmail Baghaei avoided answering a question about Russia's possible involvement in a war, stressing that Iran has good relations with Russia and other countries that condemn the aggression of the US and Israel against Iran. He also expressed his bewilderment at the new sanctions against Iran.
