Iran at UN: "Over 180 Children Dead – Attacks Even on Schools"

Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, denounced a "deliberate, unprovoked, and illegal war" by the United States and Israel against his country. According to him, the attacks began on February 28, 2026.
Mr. Iravani claimed that at least 1,332 civilians, including women and children, have been killed, while thousands have been injured. He also stated that airports, schools, hospitals, and other non-military infrastructure have been targeted. Specifically, he mentioned 175 female students killed in an attack on a school in Minab and over 180 children dead nationwide.
The Iranian ambassador also denounced an attack on the Iranian frigate Dena in international waters and destruction at the Azadi stadium and other sports complexes.
He also criticized the silence of the UN Security Council and called on member states to condemn the aggression. He stressed that Iran is exercising its right to self-defense, targeting only military objectives.
