Iran: State TV Shows Women Without Headscarves

Iranian state television has, for the first time, broadcast images of women without headscarves during the anniversary celebrations of the Islamic Revolution. This move has sparked reactions and discussions regarding the regime's hypocrisy and pressure from the international community.
The headscarf has been mandatory in Iran since 1979, but an increasing number of women are violating this rule, especially in Tehran. During the celebrations, many women appeared on state television without headscarves.
Reactions were also triggered by a video of British influencer Bushra Shaikh, who appeared without a headscarf at a gathering in Tehran. Iranian opposition figure Masih Alinejad criticized this action.
Jason Brodsky of the American NGO United Against a Nuclear Iran believes that broadcasting these images is an attempt to alleviate pressure from the international community after the suppression of protests.
Golineh Atai, a German journalist of Iranian origin, stated that the regime is trying to conceal its "repulsive face" with such actions.
