Iran: Investigation into 20 Suspects for Ties to Israel

The Iranian judiciary announced that it is investigating twenty individuals recently arrested on suspicion of having ties to Israel.
Asghar Jahangir, a spokesman for the Iranian judicial authority, stated that the cases have been placed under the supervision of investigators. The Iranian counterintelligence service announced on July 28 the arrest of 20 spies linked to the Mossad.
The two countries were involved in a war in June, with Israeli bombings and Iranian missile barrages. Following the end of hostilities, Tehran promised trials for those who collaborated with Israel.
Numerous arrests have been made for espionage in favor of Israel, as well as executions of those convicted. On Wednesday, Rouzbeh Vadi was executed, accused of giving information to Israeli intelligence about a scientist killed during the war.
The FARS news agency reported that Vadi worked at the research institute for nuclear sciences and technologies.
