Iran has rejected Australia's accusations of involvement in anti-Semitic acts that occurred last year in Melbourne and Sydney, warning of retaliation for the expulsion of its ambassador from Canberra.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated that they categorically reject the accusation and warned that any "inappropriate and unjustified measure at the diplomatic level will provoke retaliation."

The Australian government expelled the Iranian ambassador, accusing Tehran of organizing two anti-Semitic acts in late 2024. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that Australian intelligence services reached a "deeply disturbing conclusion."

Australia has given the Iranian ambassador and three other diplomats seven days to leave the country, as clarified by Foreign Minister Penny Wong.
