USA: Two Sailboats with Humanitarian Aid to Cuba Still Missing

Two sailboats from a convoy carrying humanitarian aid from Mexico to Cuba remain missing, according to the US Coast Guard and a convoy representative.
The Coast Guard stated that the search for them «continues». Earlier, it had been incorrectly reported that the boats had safely reached Cuba.
The ships departed from Isla Mujeres, Mexico, on March 21 and were expected to arrive in Havana between March 24-25. According to the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, there were a total of nine people on board the two vessels.
The Coast Guard remains vigilant and ready to provide assistance if requested. The searches are being conducted by Mexico and Cuba.
