Intervision: Russia revives Soviet-era song contest as response to West

Moscow is reviving Intervision, a Soviet-era song contest, as a response to perceived 'corrupt' Western values. The competition will take place this Saturday in Moscow.
Artists from former Soviet Union countries, BRICS members, and Australian singer Vassy, representing the USA, will participate at the Live Arena.
Russia, excluded from Eurovision due to the invasion of Ukraine, promotes Intervision as a tool for cultural influence. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented ironically on Conchita Wurst's Eurovision win in 2014.
Artists will sing in their native languages. Russian Shaman will present the song 'Straight to the Heart.' Intervision will be broadcast in participating countries, representing over 4 billion people.
