India to Develop Fighter Jet Engines with French Company

India will develop fighter jet engines in collaboration with a French company, according to Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

In a speech in New Delhi, the minister stated that India is moving forward with the manufacturing of aircraft engines within the country. Although he did not name the company, Indian media reports suggest it is Safran, which has been operating in India for decades in the aviation and defence sectors.

India, one of the world's largest arms importers, has prioritized the modernization of its armed forces and the strengthening of local arms production.
