The German Foreign Office has advised its citizens to leave Iran and avoid traveling to the country. This recommendation was issued due to concerns about possible retaliation from Tehran, following the activation of a mechanism to restore UN sanctions against Iran.

Britain, France, and Germany activated the procedure to restore sanctions due to Iran's nuclear program. The German Foreign Office warned that the possibility of German interests and citizens being affected by countermeasures in Iran cannot be ruled out.

Additionally, the German Embassy in Tehran may provide limited consular assistance.
