Gaza: Ceasefire Brings Turkey and Israel Closer

The ceasefire in Gaza appears to be creating a framework for re-evaluating Turkish-Israeli relations. Ibrahim Kalin, a close associate of Erdogan, is playing a central role in an effort to bridge relations with Israel.
According to Israeli media, Kalin's humanitarian approach and avoidance of tensions give Ankara an advantage over Erdogan's public statements. Kalin proposes the resumption of diplomatic ties with the Israeli chargé d'affaires, the restoration of flights and tourism.
The Israeli side acknowledges that Turkey has put pressure on Hamas, while the Turkish delegation proposed inviting Benjamin Netanyahu to the summit in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Kalin's relationship with Erdogan began when the Turkish president was looking for academics for his staff. Israeli officials describe him as 'the shadow of the Turkish president'.
