G7 and Gulf States to Discuss Strait of Hormuz Situation

G7 and Gulf countries are expected to meet next week to discuss the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement was made by a spokesperson for the French Foreign Ministry, which holds the rotating presidency of the G7.
The Gulf Cooperation Council includes six Arab countries: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.
The talks will take place alongside a meeting of military planners in the United Kingdom.
The initiative for the talks comes after statements by Trump, who argued that the US does not need oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz and called on countries that depend on the sea route to take over its operation.
