Iran: Revolutionary Guards Ready for 'Total War'

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warns that there will be no more retaliatory strikes of the "hit-for-hit" type and declares readiness for total war. They emphasize that their very existence is at stake.

The IRGC stresses that the Strait of Hormuz has become a forbidden zone and that not a liter of oil will pass without Iran's permission. They state that the three ships that were hit served the US and Israel, even though they were sailing under another flag.

An Iranian official told Al Jazeera that the regional war will soon enter a new phase, as US attacks on the country may lead to the emergence of a new conflict front in the region. He also threatened that another strategically important strait would suffer the same fate as the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, added that Iran's security and defense plans are tiered and gradual.
