Greek and Turkish fighter jets engage in Aegean Sea

Greek fighter jets engaged with two armed Turkish F-16s between Lemnos and Lesvos. According to GEETHA, Turkish aircraft violated Greek airspace eight times, and there were four violations of air traffic regulations in the Athens FIR.
The violations were carried out by two Turkish F-16s and a naval cooperation aircraft ATR-72. The violations included one by 16, two by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and one by the ATR-72.
The Turkish activity took place in the Northeastern and Southeastern Aegean Sea. The Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted according to international rules.
