Switzerland seeks Infantino's help to contact Trump

Politicians in Switzerland are turning to FIFA President Gianni Infantino to mediate with Donald Trump after failed negotiations on US tariffs.
The failure of Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter and Economy Minister Guy Parmelin to secure a favorable arrangement in Washington has led to the search for alternative solutions.
Roland Rino Büchel, a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, suggested contacting Infantino due to his close relationship with Trump.
The Swiss government had previously held talks with Jameson Greer and Scott Bessent, but Trump cited the trade deficit to maintain tariffs.
Many in Switzerland now see Infantino's intervention as the only chance to resume meaningful negotiations.
