EU: Drone Incursions are Part of Hybrid Warfare

European Commission representative Tomas Regnier stated that drone incursions into EU airspace are part of the hybrid warfare against Europe.

T. Regnier mentioned that the Commission fully supports Belgium, Sweden, and all member states affected by these incursions. He avoided giving more details about the origin of the drones, stressing that this is the responsibility of the member states.

According to T. Regnier, President von der Leyen has stated that this is hybrid warfare and Europe is at risk. In the roadmap for 'Defense Readiness 2030,' the Commission underlines the importance of the Drone Wall Initiative.

The representative emphasized that the response to these threats must be united and European. The development of the Drone Wall will begin in the first quarter of next year, with the aim of being operational in the fourth quarter of 2026.
