EU Allocates €2 Million in Humanitarian Aid to Cuba

The European Union will allocate €2 million to provide humanitarian aid to Cuba, which is facing a severe economic crisis exacerbated by the US oil embargo.
Crisis Management Commissioner Hadja Lahbib stated that the EU stands by the people of Cuba in this difficult time. The funding will be channeled through humanitarian organizations to provide food and drinking water.
The crisis in Cuba has worsened in recent months, following the loss of its main fuel supplier, Venezuela, after President Nicolás Maduro was captured by the US military in January.
This funding adds to the €4 million already approved by the EU for the Caribbean region for 2026.
