Iran-US Diplomatic Tensions Amidst Military Buildup

Diplomatic tensions between Iran and the US are escalating, against the backdrop of American military mobilization in the region. Iran is requesting changes to the location and format of negotiations with the United States, scheduled for Friday, according to Axios sources.
Tehran's demands increase the risk that US President Donald Trump will turn to military options. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt stated that US Special Envoy Steve Whitkopf will hold talks with Iranian officials, but Trump has other options, including military force.
The US has deployed dozens of aircraft and approximately 12 warships in the Middle East. US officials report that the mobilization is smaller in scale than previous ones but provides Trump with a credible military threat. Analysts note that the deployment could support broader-scale operations.
Trump stated that the "armada" aims to pressure Tehran to return to negotiations on its nuclear program. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran is ready for both negotiations and war.
The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is in the northern Arabian Sea, while more than 30 US aircraft have been moved to bases in the region. There are concerns about possible Iranian retaliation against Israel.
