Azerbaijani Fuel Reaches Armenia: Historic Trade Deal After Decades

Azerbaijani fuel has entered Armenia, marking the first commercial transaction after three decades of conflict between the two countries. The Armenian Minister of Economy hailed the development as a historic step towards resolving the dispute.

A train carrying 1,300 tons of gasoline from Azerbaijan arrived in Armenia via Georgia, according to Armenian Minister Gevorg Papoyan.

The two former Soviet republics had clashed twice over control of Nagorno-Karabakh before Baku regained control of the region in 2023, leading to the departure of 100,000 Armenians.
