Australia Orders Diplomatic Staff Removal from Israel and UAE

Australia's Foreign Minister has ordered the removal of diplomatic staff deemed non-essential from Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

Penny Wong stated in a post on the «X» platform that the decision was made due to the deteriorating security situation in the region.

The Australian Minister also urged Australians in the region to leave the Middle East if it is safe to do so. According to government data, approximately 2,600 Australians have returned to the country, while at least 100,000 citizens are in the wider region.
