Assad: Exile in Moscow, Luxury, and Video Games

Former Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad is reportedly living in Moscow after being granted asylum by Vladimir Putin. According to reports, he resides in luxury apartments in the Moscow City area and a villa in the countryside.
The Assad family owns approximately 20 apartments worth over £30 million. Assad lives with his wife Asma and their three children. Asma, who suffers from leukemia, continues to live in luxurious conditions.
Assad is said to spend his time playing video games. The family is protected by a private security company funded by the Russian government.
Assad fled to Russia after an attack by an Islamist group in December, which led to his overthrow. In late September, rumors of Assad's poisoning circulated, which were denied by the Kremlin.
Despite his luxurious life, Assad remains wanted by the new Syrian government.
