US Helicopter and Fighter Jet Crash in South China Sea

A helicopter and a fighter jet of the U.S. Navy crashed in the South China Sea in two separate incidents.
Initially, a Sea Hawk helicopter, which was conducting a routine operation from the aircraft carrier Nimitz, crashed in the South China Sea. The three-member crew was rescued.
About half an hour later, a Super Hornet fighter jet, which had also taken off from the USS Nimitz, crashed in the same sea area. The two crew members managed to abandon the aircraft and were rescued shortly after.
The loss of the two American aircraft in the South China Sea occurred while U.S. President Donald Trump is on a tour of Asia.
