A. Araghchi Denies Consultations with Witkoff

Iranian chief diplomat Abbas Araghchi has categorically denied a report that he has resumed contacts with White House special envoy Steve Witkoff.

In a post on platform "X", Araghchi stressed that his last contact with Mr. Witkoff took place before the decision for a military attack against Iran. He described claims to the contrary as an attempt to mislead public opinion and oil traders.

The news website "Axios" reported yesterday - citing a source in the American government - that the communication channel between the two sides had been reactivated.
