Trump Confident Fed Will Cut Interest Rates

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he is almost certain that the Federal Reserve (Fed) will cut interest rates.

In an interview with NBC News, Trump said he believes that Kevin Warsh, whom he selected to be the next head of the Fed, understands his desire for lower interest rates.

Asked if Warsh understands that the U.S. President expects him to lower interest rates, Trump replied: "I think so, but I think he wants to anyway."

"If he came in and said, 'I want to raise them'... He wouldn't have gotten the job," the American president added.
