A significant percentage of millennials face difficulties in acquiring their first home, according to research and analysis.

Increasing age of buyers? While some studies, such as that by the National Association of Realtors (NAR), show an increase in the average age of first-time home buyers to 40 years, other data, such as that from the American Housing Survey, suggest that the age remains stable at 33 years.

Rising costs after the pandemic: Housing costs have increased significantly after the pandemic, making homeownership more difficult for millennials.

What causes the delay? Various factors contribute to the delay, including rising home prices, high mortgage rates, and economic uncertainty.

An unattainable dream? Many millennials feel that homeownership is an unattainable dream, as home prices are disproportionate to their incomes.

Ryan Treiher, 34, stated that he did not imagine he would have to wait until he was 40 to be able to buy a home.

Economists point out that other factors, such as delaying marriage and continuing education, may contribute to the increase in the age of first-time home buyers.
