Maersk Suspends Shipments To and From the Persian Gulf

Danish shipping giant Maersk announced on Wednesday that it is suspending all freight bookings to and from the Persian Gulf “until further notice” due to the situation in the Middle East.
The company stated that it will temporarily no longer accept import or export freight bookings to and from the United Arab Emirates, Oman (excluding Salalah), Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia (Dammam and Jubail only).
Exceptions are made for essential food and necessities. The suspension does not apply to Jordan and Lebanon. Maersk currently has two ships in the Persian Gulf.
