Chile: Suspect Arrested in Deadly Wildfire

Chilean authorities have arrested the main suspect in the wildfire that claimed the lives of 21 people. The arrest was announced by the country's prosecutor's office.
Marcela Cartajena, a prosecutor, stated that the suspect was arrested in the Biobío region, where 20 people lost their lives. A 21st death was recorded in the neighboring Ñuble region.
The arrested individual is 39 years old, a Chilean national, with a criminal record for attacks, causing bodily harm, and violations of intellectual property law.
Authorities are investigating the possibility of arson, as three other arrests had been made since the beginning of the week, with one of the suspects being released.
The wildfires have caused the death of 21 people and have affected approximately 20,000 people, mainly in the Araucanía, Ñuble and Biobío regions.
