Brazil: Helicopter Crashes After Takeoff – Family Survives

A helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff in Brazil, carrying four passengers, including a 9-year-old child. The incident went viral after video footage was released.
The Robinson R44 helicopter crashed just 15 seconds after takeoff near the city of Campina Grande. All passengers survived, despite the severity of the impact.
The pilot, Josevan Rodrigues Ferreira, 46, was arrested as he did not have a pilot's license and his medical certificate had expired. Police Chief Rodrigo Monteiro confirmed the illegal flight.
The helicopter, registration number PR-DCM, was also involved in an accident in July 2013. The pilot's twin brother, Josean, and the helicopter owner, businessman Lamartine Oliveira, were also on board.
Brazilian aviation authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
