The content of Queen Elizabeth's last diary entry, shortly before her death, has been revealed. According to Robert Hardman, in his biography 'Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story,' the Queen wrote in her diary just two days before her death on September 8, 2022.

The entry was simple: 'Edward came to see me,' referring to Sir Edward Young, her private secretary. Hardman noted that the last entry was 'true and practical.'

According to a former staff member, the Queen used a pen with black ink, and the recording was always done at her desk, as the last act of the day.

King Charles, her son and successor, also keeps a diary, where he records his memories and thoughts.
