Valencia: Officials Resign After Deadly Floods

Officials in Valencia are resigning due to errors in handling the devastating floods that swept the region last year, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people.
Carlos Mazón, leader of the eastern region of Valencia, announced his resignation following pressure from relatives of the victims.
The torrential rainfall on October 29 claimed the lives of 229 people and caused billions of euros in damage, mainly in suburbs south of Valencia, Spain's third-largest city.
"I can't continue any longer," Mazón said, criticizing the national government's response to the crisis.
Residents accuse regional authorities of issuing a warning too late, after buildings were already underwater.
