Jeffrey Epstein: College Promises Lured Young Women into Scheme

Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell allegedly approached young women, like Rina O, with promises of studies at top universities, to incorporate them into his sex trafficking network.
Rina O, now an artist in New York, met Epstein in 2000 through Lisa Phillips. Epstein told her she needed a fine arts degree and offered her a scholarship to the School of Visual Arts in New York, which he revoked when Rina didn't do as he wished.
According to testimonies, Epstein helped young women enroll in universities, often paying tuition, in order to control them and prevent them from reporting the abuse to authorities. There is evidence of at least three women, one of whom was a minor, for whom he arranged university admission.
Epstein's connections with universities such as Harvard and MIT became known after his death in 2019.
Rina O stated that Epstein wanted to have people in his 'possession' and that 'nothing was free'.
