A tragedy occurred in Crete, in the sea area of ​​Kaloi Limenes, where a shipwreck claimed the lives of three migrants. So far, 20 people have been rescued.

Authorities are conducting a search and rescue operation as there are reports of 25 missing persons.

According to ERT, the accident happened when a merchant ship approached the migrants' wooden boat. During the migrants' attempt to climb the ship's ladders, a weight shift occurred, resulting in the boat capsizing. Winds of 6 Beaufort were blowing in the area and the wave height reached 2.5 meters.
