A newborn baby was found alive inside a toilet cistern in an office building in Bangkok, Thailand. The discovery was made by a cleaning lady on November 15th, who heard the baby crying while cleaning the toilet on the third floor.

The woman found the baby naked in the water, showing signs of being in the water for several hours. Police arrived at the scene and the baby was taken to Sirindhorn Hospital. Doctors reported that the baby girl weighs 2.7 kg and is in good condition.

The police chief stated that the baby was less than a day old and authorities are reviewing security cameras to identify the mother. According to the Thai Penal Code, abandoning a newborn is punishable by imprisonment up to three years.

A similar incident recently occurred in Brazil, where cleaning workers found a newborn in a garbage bag in Rio de Janeiro.
