An alarm was triggered on Monday (8/9) at London's Heathrow Airport, leading authorities to evacuate a terminal.

Part of the airport was evacuated as a precaution. According to BBC reports, passengers were seen waiting outside Terminal 4, while the situation remained under close monitoring.

Significant Fire Brigade and Police forces rushed to the scene following reports of a “possible incident involving hazardous substances.”

The London Fire Brigade said in a statement: “Firefighters are responding to a possible hazardous materials incident at Heathrow Airport. Specialist teams have been dispatched to conduct an assessment of the situation, while part of the airport has been evacuated as a precaution while the operation continues.”
