St. Papastavrou: Europe Must Be Prepared for New International Crisis

The Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, stressed the need for Europe to be prepared for a new international crisis, upon his arrival at the EU Energy Ministers Council.

Mr. Papastavrou emphasized that energy prices directly affect households and businesses, calling on Europe to rise to the occasion. He mentioned that in the first ten days of March, Greece recorded the sixth lowest wholesale energy price in Europe, due to the diversified energy mix and the utilization of Renewable Energy Sources.

Furthermore, the minister noted that energy networks are a key factor in creating a unified European energy market.
