Izmir: 50,000+ Evacuated Due to Wildfires

More than 50,000 people have been evacuated from their homes due to wildfires affecting the provinces of Izmir, Manisa, and Hatay, the Turkish Disaster Management Agency (AFAD) announced.
"More than 50,000 citizens from 41 locations have been temporarily relocated to safe areas," AFAD stated in a post on X.
The major forest fire that broke out yesterday in Izmir has been raging for the second day, with firefighters' work hampered by strong winds, as stated earlier today by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and reported by local media.
