4.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Western Turkey

A 4.9 magnitude earthquake struck Balıkesir in Western Turkey, in the same region that was hit by a 6.1 magnitude earthquake last week.
The earthquake occurred shortly after 2:30 PM on Monday and had a focal depth of 11 kilometers. The area continues to be affected by aftershocks.
Prior to the 4.9 magnitude earthquake, a 3.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the same epicenter.
