Sarkozy: 'I will sleep in prison, but with my head held high'

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been found guilty of criminal conspiracy in a case related to the embezzlement of illegal funds from Muammar Gaddafi.
Sarkozy called the verdict 'extremely serious for the rule of law'. He stated that he would comply with the decision, declaring: 'If they absolutely want me to sleep in prison, I will sleep in prison, but with my head held high'.
His lawyer, Christophe Ingrain, announced that he would appeal the decision, calling it a 'scandalous injustice'.
The case concerns the embezzlement of millions of euros from the late Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi.
