Russia: Train-Bus Collision – One Dead, 11 Injured

One person died and eleven were injured in a collision between a freight train and a bus in the Leningrad region, in northwestern Russia.
According to the local railway administration, the bus driver entered the railway crossing as a freight train approached. The train driver activated the emergency brake, but the collision was unavoidable due to the short distance.
Initially, the railway administration reported that it was a regular bus, but according to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, the vehicle was a tourist bus.
Of the 12 passengers injured, one died from their injuries, while the rest are hospitalized. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
