Russia Claims Capture of Second Village in Dnipropetrovsk Region

Russia announced on Saturday that it had captured a second village in Ukraine's central Dnipropetrovsk region, as part of a new advance in the area.
According to a statement from the Russian military, its forces "liberated the community of Maliivka." The Dnipropetrovsk region is crucial for Ukraine's mining industry, particularly for coal extraction.
A Russian advance could significantly impact Ukraine's economy and energy supply. Ukrainian authorities have already ordered the evacuation of areas near the front line.
Overnight attacks resulted in the deaths of five people, three in central Ukraine and two in western Russia.
The Dnipropetrovsk region is not one of the regions that Moscow has formally annexed.
