Russia: Train Derailments – One Dead

Two trains derailed in different areas of the Leningrad region in Russia, resulting in the death of a train driver. The accidents caused disruptions to train traffic.
The regional governor, Alexander Drozdenko, reported that the train driver was killed near the Semrino station, in the Gatchina region. A freight train also derailed further south, with no reported casualties.
Russian authorities are investigating the possibility of sabotage, as several similar incidents have occurred since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Kyiv has not claimed responsibility but often applauds such actions.
These incidents come after an explosion on a railway line in the Oryol region, where three people were killed.
