Russia: 25 Dead from Bootleg Alcohol in Leningrad Region

The death toll from consuming bootleg alcohol in the Leningrad region of northwestern Russia has reached 25, according to local authorities.
Authorities announced that three suspects have been arrested and are expected to stand trial for selling the tainted alcohol. The investigation revealed elevated levels of methanol in the deceased.
The Investigative Committee announced that autopsies on six people who died in the Volosovsky area between September 10 and 17 revealed increased or fatal levels of methanol.
Yesterday, authorities had reported 19 deaths in the Slantsevsky region.
