Romanians Arrested at Cologne Airport for Running to Catch Flight

Two Romanian passengers were arrested at Cologne-Bonn Airport in Germany on November 21 after attempting to catch their flight to Romania. The men, aged 28 and 47, broke the glass of an emergency alarm and entered the airport runway.
According to police, the two men pressed a button to open the door to the runway. An airport spokesperson confirmed that the passengers gained illegal access after passing through security and were apprehended by staff.
Federal Police spokesman Oliver Hünewinckell stated that criminal charges have been filed for trespassing. Flight safety was not compromised, and flights were not affected.
Cologne/Bonn Airport has initiated legal proceedings against the two men.
