FDP Leader Resigns After Election Losses in Germany

The leader of the Free Democratic Party (FDP), Christian Dürr, has resigned following recent defeats in state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg.
Along with Mr. Dürr, members of the party's executive committee also resigned. Mr. Dürr stated that he is ready to take responsibility and ensure renewed legitimacy, and intends to be a candidate in the May elections.
According to German media, the FDP is considering implementing a "dual leadership" model. MEP Agnes Strack-Zimmermann and former Secretary Wolfgang Kubicki have expressed interest in leadership.
