Over 1,000 Migrants Cross Channel in One Day

Over a thousand migrants crossed the English Channel on Friday, heading towards the British coast. According to Home Office figures, 1,072 people made the journey in 13 boats.

These arrivals bring the total number of migrants who have crossed the Channel in 2025 to 32,103, a record number for this time of year.

Meanwhile, the British government continues to return migrants to France under a 'one in, one out' agreement. The third person deported was an Iranian, preceded by a man from Eritrea and an Indian national.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philip criticized the agreement, arguing that it has no deterrent effect.
