Doug Burgum: Greece as an Energy Hub Can Bring Peace to Eastern Europe

U.S. Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, spoke at the OT FORUM about Greece's role as an energy hub. He referred to the possibilities of Greek-American energy cooperation and the challenges of the geopolitical landscape.
Mr. Burgum stressed that the cooperation between Greece and the USA in the field of energy and artificial intelligence, as well as the Vertical Corridor, can bring peace, stability and prosperity to Eastern Europe. He also highlighted the alignment between U.S. President Trump and Prime Minister K. Mitsotakis.
Mr. Burgum stated that Greece's geographical position makes it an important energy hub for Eastern Europe, offering alternative energy sources and reducing dependence on Russia. He also referred to Greece's ability to receive LNG and export it to its neighbors.
Regarding relations with Turkey, Mr. Burgum avoided talking about preferences, but stressed that the USA wants differences to be resolved peacefully. He did not rule out the possibility of President Trump mediating between Greece and Turkey, but noted that the priority is the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
Finally, he referred to the revival of the 3+1 scheme (Greece, Cyprus, Israel and the USA) and the possibilities of cooperation in the field of trade, artificial intelligence and electricity.
