Nigeria: 13 Dead, Dozens Missing After Boat Capsizes

At least 13 people have died and dozens are missing after an overloaded ferry capsized and sank in Niger State, north-central Nigeria.
Rescue teams managed to save 26 people, mainly women and children. The incident occurred while transporting people to a local market.
The captain of the wooden boat was unable to confirm the exact number of passengers. The accident is likely due to overloading. Searches continue for the missing.
Naval accidents are frequent in the area, especially on informal ferry lines. Nine months ago, at least 60 people died when a boat carrying women and children sank as they returned from a religious celebration.
