New EU Framework Agreement for Transparency and Trust

Delegations from the European Commission and the European Parliament have reached an agreement on a renewed Framework Agreement, aimed at strengthening transparency and cooperation between the two institutions.
Key points of the agreement:
- Equal treatment between Parliament and Council.
- Inter-institutional flow of information, with timely and detailed information to the Parliament.
- Enhanced presence of Commissioners in meetings.
- Transparency in urgent decisions.
- Strengthening the role of Parliament in legislative matters and international negotiations.
- Improved participation of MEPs.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stressed the importance of cooperation for democracy. The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, highlighted the strengthening of the Parliament's role.
The agreement will be submitted to the Parliament for approval.
